Tips
Do not buy travel insurance from the same cruise line or tour operator with which you are traveling. There may not be money to cover your claim if that company goes out of business. Use a third-party provider (that includes travel agents).
Do not forget about medical insurance. Even if you are covered for basic emergency care overseas, chances are, your current health insurance does NOT cover you for evacuation ( ?Medical Evacuation and Repatriation?) and flying you back to the U.S.? This is paid yearly, and once you get sick or injured overseas, the policy will get you treated, stabilized and flown back to the U.S. to the hospital of your choice, not theirs.
